Official Fees for a single application include the Stamp Duty, Application fees, Publication fees and registration fees totaling approximately $176USD.
Barbados is a single class jurisdiction, meaning an individual application is required for each class of goods. Multi-Class application is not available.
Paris Convention Priority filing is accepted. A certified copy of the claimed application is required but can be submitted after the initial filing in Barbados.
The opposition period is 90 days; the total examination period through registration is approximately 12-24 months.
Use of the trademark is required within 5 years after registration otherwise the application may be removed from the registry.
A renewal application is required between the 9th and 10th years of the registration. There is a grace period of 6 months after the expiration of the registration during which a request for renewal can be filed with an additional penalty fee.
